What is the best treatment for red veins and thread veins?

At The Chilgrove Clinic, we use a red vein treatment called ThermaVein to successfully remove unsightly red veins and thread veins from all parts of the face and body, including legs.

What Is It?

ThermaVein is completely non-invasive and uses Radio Frequency at specific levels to 'heat seal' the unwanted vessels, causing them to collapse and empty

Why Do We Get Red Veins and What Causes Them?

There are several causes of red veins or broken capillaries. The medical term for them is Telangiectasia, but we like to be straightforward with our explanations, so let's continue with red veins. There are various reasons why you should develop red veins, the main ones are smoking, sun exposure, using the wrong type of skincare, alcohol consumption, having an oily complexion, and they can also be hereditary.

You may have tried covering them with makeup, or using various creams and lotions, but in the end, they will still be visible. They can be very distressing for many people; I have treated hundreds of clients with ThermVein since we started offering the treatments, and in quite a number of cases, they have been very distressed about their appearance, and even been in tears because they can't deal with the comments that they receive from some people about their 'red nose' or 'ruddy cheeks'

Who Can Be Treated With ThermaVein?

Anyone, male or female, young and not-so-young. There are certain health conditions that might prevent you from having treatments, but because it's such a superficial treatment - we don't break the skin or inject anything into it - most people will be good candidates. A full consultation and medical history will be taken at your consultation to ensure it's the right treatment for you.

What Does ThermaVein Feel Like? Is It Painful?

There is minimal discomfort during treatment; a slight stinging sensation can sometimes be felt, however because it's a quick procedure, it's over in a matter of minutes. I use a special headset during your treatment which has powerful magnifiers and a polarising light. This light allows me to see your vessels in great detail, and target them very accurately.

How Will I Look After ThermaVein?

A little red, perhaps some slight swelling in the treated areas

What Do I Need To Do After A ThermaVein Treatment?

Careful cleaning of the treated areas with tepid water only is best. Try to avoid excessive rubbing of the area, or using any abrasive products such as exfoliants for a minimum of 5 days.

It's very rewarding to see the difference ThermaVein makes to clients' lives once they have undergone their treatments, and the tears that are shed immediately following their treatments, when I show them their results, are tears of happiness rather than despair.
